Bio

Mr. Maynard has taught here since 2010.  His first position at Marty was as the Fifth Grade Teacher. While at the elementary school he helped other teachers with technology issues; particularly with the Promethean Board interactive white board systems, as he had one at his previous employment.  Over the next couple years he started helping troubleshoot technology issues and rediscovered his interest in computers and technology. As a result, Mr. Maynard requested to start teaching computers and keyboarding to elementary students. He also decided to achieve a Masters of Art in Teaching and Learning with Technology to further foster interest in this discipline; with a goal of expanding his student base beyond the elementary classrooms.

In 2015 he was offered the position of High School Computer/Middle School Social Studies Teacher for the following school year.  It was also during that time that he discovered Code.org a non-profit organization dedicated to expanding access to computer science in schools, while increasing interest in female students and other underrepresented minorities. Due to this discovery he is now an advocate for teaching Computer Science to students of all ages.

Mr. Maynard is happy to announce that officially Marty Indian School will now be offering a comprehensive K-12 Computer Science and Technology curriculum for the first time this 2018-2019 school year.
